Installazione audio-video, Dimensione ambiente
L'opera mira a trasmettere visioni e suggestioni dell’abbandono.
This work aims to explore the combinatorial capacity of tarot cards, not as figures used or usable in predictive contexts, but rather as concepts and archetypes that can guide our exploratory engagement with the world.
Step by step, card by card, we will encounter different facets of a reality that, while it may appear fragmented, reveals a unified substance that can be constructed through intellectual play. Beginning with an analysis of the term "combine," we’ll examine its distinct aspects, from history to mathematics, from literature to art. Like a die that presents a different face each time yet remains a single unit, or like chess, where each move brings us to a new situation that reflects and evolves from the previous one.
This is a journey, a path, a game viewed through the eyes of the Major Arcana, who, like Virgil, will guide us to discover ideas, poems, sensations, images, equations, stories, and theories. Each card will reveal, according to its personality, a different aspect: The Fool sees before him a path full of discovery; The Magician observes potentialities; The High Priestess accumulates ideas and prepares for action; The Empress brings forth new systems and theories; The Emperor clarifies all things by finding solutions; The Hierophant represents a bridge, connecting worlds that seem wholly opposite; The Lovers embody a moment where all choices are possible; The Chariot transforms the possibility of decision into global action; Justice balances all aspects of reality; The Hermit courageously faces a difficult test, breaking all molds; The Wheel of Fortune is the totality achieved in the union of all; Strength awakens new possibilities; The Hanged Man offers himself to others, ahelping them see the world from another perspective; XIII has no name because it represents the excess we must shed to see the substance of things; Temperance communicates with us through spirituality, unveiling new worlds; The Devil seduces our subconscious, bringing forth new images through creativity; The Tower releases all that is within through play; The Star adorns the world; The Moon senses in the dark, though she may be mistaken; The Sun is the novelty that illuminates the path; Judgment is the birth of the new, emerging from freedom; The World reflects on the completed journey, what it has seen and learned, ready to start anew.
Llull, Queneau, Leibniz, Manovich, Calvino, Dalí—these are just some of the names we will encounter, with whom we’ll engage alongside the cards in this combinatorial journey, a game where archetypes and modernity come together.
